Jack Follow accompanies the exhibition 'Inside Polytunnel' by Guy Gormley at the Son Gallery.

In his second solo-exhibition at Son Gallery Guy Gormley will exhibit new images from his recent explorations with digital and analogue image making. The selection includes photographs taken on a journey from London to Unst, in the Shetlands, the northern most point of the British Isles.

In these new images Gormley's aesthetic touch turns observational realism into a seductive and psychologically complex terrain. Lo-grade digital pictures, hand printed in the darkroom or turned out on domestic inkjet printers, unnerve the viewer, creating new unforeseen attitudes towards his subjects. Dropped into perspex sleeves the prints reveal their materiality. The exhibition itself is a carefully considered editing and sequencing of the new work.
